Inside Moses Wetang’ula’s Multi-Million Real Estate Investment in Syokimau
National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula is widely regarded as one of Kenya’s wealthiest and most experienced politicians, with investments spread across several sectors. After more than three decades in public service, the veteran lawyer has built a fortune estimated to run into billions of shillings, with real estate standing out as one of his key ventures.
Wetang’ula’s Political Journey and Wealth Accumulation
Wetang’ula began his political career in the early 1990s after being nominated to Parliament by the then-ruling party, KANU. He later served as the Member of Parliament for Sirisia between 2003 and 2013. During President Mwai Kibaki’s administration, he held several senior Cabinet positions, including Minister for Foreign Affairs and later Trade.
His long stay in government and leadership roles has significantly contributed to his financial success. Today, as the Speaker of the National Assembly, Wetang’ula remains one of the most influential figures in Kenyan politics.
360 Apartments: A Major Real Estate Project in Syokimau
Among his notable investments is a large residential development located in Syokimau, Machakos County. The property, commonly known as 360 Apartments, sits along Mombasa Road, approximately five kilometres from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
The estate consists of several multi-storey apartment blocks offering modern two-bedroom and three-bedroom units. Each apartment is designed with spacious living areas, large kitchens, separate bathrooms, and contemporary fittings aimed at providing a comfortable urban lifestyle.

Features and Amenities
The Syokimau apartments come with a range of amenities typical of high-end residential estates. These include:
-
Cabro-paved driveways and parking areas
-
Dedicated parking for each unit
-
Perimeter wall with electric fencing for enhanced security
-
Backup power for common areas
-
Children’s play area
-
UPVC windows, solar lighting, and vitrified floor tiles
The estate also benefits from round-the-clock security, making it attractive to middle- and upper-income residents working in Nairobi and its surroundings.

Wetang’ula Among Kenya’s Property-Owning Politicians
Wetang’ula joins a growing list of Kenyan politicians who have invested heavily in real estate. Other prominent figures, including former governors and Cabinet members, have publicly showcased or declared ownership of multi-billion-shilling residential estates in Nairobi and other major towns.
Real estate continues to be a preferred investment choice for many wealthy Kenyans, offering long-term returns despite challenges such as infrastructure and environmental concerns.
