Gaucho Education Background: Schools Attended and Academic Journey
1 min read
Calvince Okoth, popularly known as Gaucho, began his education journey in Rongo, Migori County. He attended primary school there but was forced to stop his studies in Class Six around 2002 due to financial challenges after losing his parents.
As the eldest among five siblings, life became difficult at an early age, making it hard for him to continue with school.
After moving to Nairobi in search of better opportunities, Gaucho spent many years away from formal education as he focused on hustling and surviving in the city.
Despite the challenges, he later made the decision to return to school and continue with his studies.
In 2023, Gaucho resumed his education through adult learning classes at Gumbaru School in Nairobi, where he successfully completed his Form Four studies.
His return to school was seen as a major step in rebuilding his life and inspiring other young people from informal settlements.
Apart from formal education, Gaucho also attended Diguna Discipleship Training College, where he studied for one year. His studies there focused mainly on religious teachings, discipline and leadership skills.
He has also publicly shown interest in improving his communication skills, especially in English language classes, as part of his personal growth and leadership development.
