Paul Ng’eno Dies Months After His Brother Johana Ng’eno Was Perished in Helicopter Crash

Paul Ng’eno, the brother of the late Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ng’eno, has died after a long illness, his family has confirmed.

Paul died on Friday, August 21, 2026, while receiving treatment in Eldoret. His death came just hours after former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua visited the family in Mogondo, Narok County.

The family said Paul had been unwell for a long time and had been undergoing treatment following a motorbike accident that reportedly affected his spinal cord and throat area.

He had recently undergone surgery and was said to be in stable condition as doctors prepared to discharge him. However, his condition later worsened.

“Unfortunately, his condition deteriorated a few hours ago, and he sadly passed away this evening,” the family said.

Paul’s death comes less than six months after his brother Johana died in a helicopter crash in Nandi County on February 28, 2026.

Johana, who was the Emurua Dikirr MP, died together with five other people when the Airbus H125 helicopter they were travelling in crashed in Chepkiep Village, Mosop Sub-County.

During his visit to the family on Friday, Gachagua also pledged to help settle Paul’s Ksh1.8 million hospital bill. He further promised to support the construction of a mausoleum in honour of the late MP.

Johana’s death has remained a subject of debate, with Gachagua calling for investigations into the helicopter crash.

Paul was the only brother of Johana and the only surviving son of their mother, Mary Temas, popularly known as Mama Mary.

He is survived by his sisters Elizabeth Chumo and Sarah Temas. Another sister, Janeth Chepkosgei, died before Johana.
