Edwin Watenya Sifuna is a well-known Kenyan lawyer, politician, and public figure. Edwin Sifuna was born on May 22nd, 1982, in Bungoma, Western Kenya. He grew up in a humble family that valued education, discipline, and hard work. His mother was a primary teacher at Moi Bungoma, and his father was a civil worker at the municipal council. His parents played a major role in his education by paying his fees and taking him to a better school. This shaped his journey in his political and professional life.

Sifuna started his lower education at Kakamega Township Primary School. He performed well in his KCSE studies and was called to join Musingu High School. He later received a letter to join the University of Nairobi, one of the best institutions in Africa, and he graduated with a degree in Law.

His first attempt to vie for the Kanduyi Parliamentary seat in the 2013 general elections was unsuccessful, as he lost to John Makali.

In 2022, Edwin Sifuna contested the Nairobi Senate seat with the Azimio la Umoja coalition and defeated his opponent, Bishop Margaret Wanjiru, with 716,651 votes to 524,091.

In February 2023, ODM made Sifuna the minority whip after replacing Ledama Olekina.

Edwin Sifuna is married to Didi Wamukoya, and they have a daughter. Although he is a politician, he remains a committed husband who loves his family.
