Gen-Z Hacker, 26, Arrested for Sh11.4M Heist From Betting Firm, Says He’s a Cybersecurity Engineer
Detectives from the DCI’s banking fraud investigations unit have arrested a 26-year-old university student whom they have linked to defrauding a betting company of millions of shillings through hacking on Saturday, 30 August.
The suspect Seth Moby is said to have led several fraudulent activities, including the latest, which was siphoning 11,400,000.0 shillings from a large betting company.
He was arrested on his board in Kiambu’s Tato City. When detectives from the DCI’s banking fraud investigations unit made their way to Tato City early Saturday morning, it was to wind up weeks of intensive analytical investigations into a series of electronic fraud cases and make arrests.
The suspect, 26-year-old Seth Mwabe, a Meru University dropout, is the main suspect in various fraud cases, with the most recent being the alleged online siphoning of 11,400,000.0 shillings from a betting company firm.
