Lucy Natasha Launches New ECC Branch in South Sudan Weeks After Closing Nairobi Church

Preacher Lucy Natasha has moved her Empowerment Christian Church (ECC) ministry to South Sudan, just weeks after closing the physical services at her Nairobi branch.

The move follows Natasha’s decision to shift all Nairobi services online due to challenges with securing a permanent venue.

Why Lucy Natasha Closed the Nairobi Church

In a statement shared on her official social media pages, Natasha confirmed that ECC would no longer hold in-person services at the Biashara Plaza Rooftop, which had served as the church’s home for years.

The announcement she made on Sunday, January 11, marked a major change for the Nairobi ministry.

”This Sunday, January 11, we will not meet at Biashara Plaza Rooftop due to venue challenges. All services will continue online until further notice,” Natasha’s statement read.

While the preacher did not reveal the exact cause of the issues—whether financial, logistical, or otherwise—she urged congregants to stay prayerful as the ministry seeks a permanent location.

“Stand with us in prayer as God leads us into our own God-ordained space. Stay connected,” she added.

ECC South Sudan Official Launch

On Sunday, February 1, Lucy Natasha announced the official launch of ECC in South Sudan, sharing details about the venue and contact information for interested congregants.

God will do the impossible in your life and shut the haters up, in the name of Jesus! Join us for the Grand Opening of Empowerment Christian Church (ECC), South Sudan,” she wrote.

The new branch will be located in Gudele, Juba, at Jubek Secondary School, with Pastor Rina appointed as the resident pastor. Natasha also provided a contact number for those seeking more information about the church.

In a separate social media post, the preacher offered prayers and encouragement ahead of the launch, expressing optimism about the new chapter for her ministry:

February will be filled with abundance, happiness, peace, love, increase, and blessings. All set for the launch of the Empowerment Christian Church, South Sudan,” she said.
