Former Deputy President and Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua is expected to travel to the United Kingdom on Friday as he begins plans to seek support ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Speaking during the funeral of Ann Nyatoro Ndung’u, the mother of East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) MP Kanini Kega, Gachagua said the trip is part of efforts to build strong networks that will help raise money for the DCP party.
Gachagua revealed that after completing his UK visit, he will later travel to the United States to continue engaging friends and supporters of the party.
According to the former Deputy President, DCP is focused on strengthening its operations and preparing early for the next General Election. He noted that proper planning and funding will be important for the party’s success in 2027.
“This is why I will leave for the United Kingdom on Friday night. After that, I will return and later travel to the United States to speak with our friends and partners. We must come together and raise enough money for the elections,” Gachagua said.
His remarks come at a time when political parties are already beginning preparations and alliances ahead of the 2027 polls.
