The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) has warned TVET students to make sure they complete the final step of their loan application to avoid missing out on funding.
The warning mainly targets students applying for the TVET Diploma Level 6 loan for the first time.
HELB said filling in the application form does not necessarily mean that the application has been successfully submitted.
Students applying for the first time should receive a confirmation message reading:
“Congratulations! Your loan application for TVET Diploma Level 6 first-time application form is complete.”
Students can also confirm their application by selecting the “Resend Application” option on the platform. This allows them to request a PDF copy of the completed application form.
What TVET Students Should Do
Students who have not received the completion confirmation should check their application and make sure they have finished the process.
For students making subsequent applications, HELB said they should also receive a confirmation message after completing the process.
However, HELB noted that the confirmation message may sometimes be delayed. Such students have been advised to regularly check their loan application status.
Students making subsequent applications can use the HELB mobile app or the available USSD options provided by HELB.
The reminder is meant to ensure that students do not mistake filling in the application form for completing the entire loan application process.
