HELB Disburses Funds to Students in 5 New Batches

The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) has announced the disbursement of tuition funds to higher education institutions in five new batches, offering relief to students who have been waiting for their funding.

How Students Can Check Their HELB Funds

Students whose batch numbers appear on the list have been advised to check their HELB student portals or contact their respective institutions for confirmation and further information.

The latest disbursement covers tuition fees, which are sent directly to the institutions rather than paid to students as upkeep money.

Students should therefore confirm with their universities or colleges when the funds will reflect in their tuition accounts.

What About Students Still Waiting for HELB Upkeep?

The latest announcement does not confirm the release of upkeep funds to students. Those who are still waiting for upkeep should continue checking their HELB portals for updates on their payments.

The announcement also does not specify the total amount disbursed or the number of students covered by the five batches.

Students whose batch numbers are not included in the latest update will have to wait for further communication from HELB.

The update comes amid concerns from students who have reported delays in receiving their higher education funding, with some saying their applications have remained at the allocation stage for months.

HELB continues to process and disburse funds to support eligible students pursuing higher education in Kenya.
