Atletico Madrid made a dream start against Barcelona in the Copa del Rey semi-final, scoring two quick goals to take a 2-0 lead at the Metropolitano Stadium.
The home side opened the scoring just seven minutes into the match after a costly mistake by Barcelona goalkeeper Joan Garcia. A simple pass from Eric Garcia rolled under his foot and into the net, handing Atletico an unexpected early advantage.
Atletico continued to press and doubled their lead in the 14th minute through Antoine Griezmann. The French forward finished off a brilliant team move after receiving a pass from Nahuel Molina, curling the ball past the goalkeeper from inside the box.

Griezmann has been in excellent form in the Copa del Rey this season, scoring five goals in his last four matches, making him the competition’s leading scorer.
