Confirmed KCSE 2025 Results to Be Released on Friday in Eldoret

The Ministry of Education has confirmed that the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results will be officially released on Friday, January 9.

Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba is expected to announce the results during a briefing scheduled for 9:30am in Eldoret, according to officials from the ministry.

The national examination ended on November 21, 2025, after running for nearly five weeks. KCSE candidates began sitting for their papers on October 21, marking one of the most important academic milestones for secondary school learners.

Close to 996,000 students participated in the 2025 KCSE examinations, which determine admission into universities, colleges, and other post-secondary institutions.

Earlier, CS Ogamba had indicated that the results would be released within the traditional January window. While speaking at the Omogusii Cultural Festival held at Kenyoro School Groups in North Mugirango, he reassured candidates and parents that the ministry was on course.

“KCSE results are normally released in January, and we are maintaining that long-standing practice,” Ogamba said at the time.

Meanwhile, the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) recently activated its online results portal in preparation for the release. However, the system remains inaccessible to the public until the official announcement is made.

Education officials explained that activating the portal early is a routine measure meant to test its readiness and ensure it can manage high traffic once results go live.

After the announcement, candidates will be able to check their provisional results by entering their index number and examination year on the KNEC platform.

The Cabinet Secretary has also warned the public against false reports circulating online. In a statement shared on Saturday, January 3, Ogamba dismissed claims that the KCSE results had already been released, urging Kenyans to ignore unverified information.
