Headless Body Found in Makueni Thicket After Human Skull Discovery

Police in Makueni County have launched investigations after a decomposing headless body was found in a bushy area, just a day after a human skull was discovered near River Kyang’ondu in Mbooni East.

According to police, the body was found during a search operation that started after the skull was recovered on Monday morning along the riverbank in Usalala Sub-location.

The body has not yet been identified, and detectives are treating the matter as a suspected murder case.

Area Assistant Chief Getrude Waeni said members of the public first noticed the skull and quickly informed local authorities.

She explained that the skull had badly decomposed, making it difficult for officers to identify the victim immediately.

Preliminary investigations by police suggest that the victim may have been killed before the remains were dumped in the thicket.

The body was later moved to the Makueni County Referral Hospital mortuary as investigations continue.

Police are now working to establish the identity of the deceased and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
