A Nairobi man is nursing serious injuries in the hospital after his girlfriend allegedly poured hot water on him during a late-night confrontation in Umoja 1 Estate.
The victim, identified as Steve Godia, said the shocking incident happened on the eve of Valentine’s Day at his rented house. According to him, the dispute began after the woman accused him of maintaining contact with his ex-girlfriend.

How the Incident Happened
Godia claims that what started as a tense discussion quickly turned violent. He alleges the suspect boiled water and poured it on his face, leaving him with severe burns and swollen eyes.
He was later rushed to a city hospital, where he is still receiving treatment. Reports indicate the injuries were serious enough to nearly cost him his life.
Theft Claims After the Attack
Apart from the injuries, Godia also alleges that the woman fled the scene with his two mobile phones. He further claims that about KSh 318,000 was transferred from his bank account during the ordeal.

The incident has since been reported to police, who are treating the matter as attempted murder and grievous assault. Authorities say the suspect remains at large as investigations continue.
Godia, a third-year student at Multimedia University, says the attack has affected his academic progress. He revealed that he has already missed exams due to the injuries and ongoing treatment.
The family is now calling for swift action from police to ensure the suspect is arrested and charged.
