Kenyan comedian Timothy Kimani, popularly known as Njugush, has officially confirmed that he and his wife Celestine Ndinda, also known as Wakavinye, have separated after being together for 14 years.
The news has left many fans shocked and heartbroken, as the couple has for years been seen as one of Kenya’s most admired celebrity couples.
In a statement released on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, Njugush said that the two made the decision to part ways last year after careful thought and mutual respect.
He said the separation was peaceful and both of them agreed on the decision.

“Last year, we made the decision to part ways after much thought and with mutual respect. We have been co-parenting, and our children remain our top priority,” Njugush said.
He also asked fans and the public to give them privacy as they move into the next chapter of their lives.
The couple, who met while studying at the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC), had been together since their campus days.
Over the years, Njugush and Celestine built a strong brand together through comedy skits, online content, and live shows that made them one of the most successful entertainment couples in Kenya.
They officially tied the knot in December 2016 and have two sons together.

For months, fans had been speculating that all was not well in their marriage after noticing that the two had stopped appearing together in videos and social media posts.
The rumours became stronger after Celestine was spotted without her wedding ring.
Now, Njugush’s latest statement has confirmed what many had been suspecting.
Despite the separation, the two say they will continue working together as parents and will focus on raising their children in peace.
Many Kenyans online have expressed sadness over the news, with some saying the split feels like the end of an era in Kenya’s entertainment industry.
