KUCCPS Opens University and TVET Transfer Portal, Application Deadline

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has officially opened the 2026 inter-institution transfer application window for students who want to change the university, college or TVET institution where they were placed.
The transfer application period will run for 30 days and will close on August 14, 2026.
Who Can Apply?
The application is open to students who were recently placed in universities, colleges and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions through KUCCPS but would like to study in a different institution.
Students who are not satisfied with their current placement can submit a transfer request through the KUCCPS student portal.
How to Apply for a KUCCPS Transfer
To apply for a transfer, students should:
- Log into the KUCCPS student portal.
- Select the Inter-Institution Transfer option.
- Choose the institution they wish to move to.
- Give a valid reason for requesting the transfer.
- Submit the application before the August 14 deadline.
KUCCPS Warns Students Against Fake Transfer Forms
Before officially opening the transfer window, KUCCPS warned students about fake messages and forms circulating on social media claiming that transfers had already started.
The placement agency advised students to ignore unofficial information and only use the official KUCCPS student portal when applying for transfers.
Why Students Apply for Transfers
Many students request transfers after the placement results are released. Some want to join institutions that are closer to home, while others prefer different courses or universities that better suit their career goals.
Students interested in changing their placement are encouraged to submit their applications early before the transfer window closes on August 14, 2026.
