HELB Gives Clarification to University and TVET Students Whose Funding Status Shows “Verified” or “Allocated” but Still Have No Money in Their Accounts
University and TVET students who are still seeing Verified, Allocated or Disbursement in Progress on their funding status have been asked to remain patient as they wait for their upkeep funds.
Some students have already started receiving their money, including those who recently changed their payment details such as M-Pesa, bank accounts or phone numbers.
Students whose funds have not yet been released are being advised to keep checking their accounts and funding status as they wait for the payment process to be completed.
In the meantime, students can consider other ways of meeting their basic needs as they wait for their upkeep funds.
The delay has left some university and TVET students struggling to meet daily expenses, especially those who depend on the funds for food, transport and other basic needs.
Students who entered the wrong M-Pesa number, bank account details or phone number should first log into their funding portal and check whether they can update the information.
Those who have already corrected their payment details should regularly check their funding status and the account they provided for payment.
However, students whose details are correct but their status still shows Verified, Allocated or Disbursement in Progress should avoid making unnecessary changes. They should remain patient and continue checking for updates.
If a student cannot change the details through the portal, they should contact the relevant HELB or TVET funding support channels for guidance instead of submitting multiple applications.
