Equity Afya has announced several job opportunities for qualified healthcare professionals in different parts of Kenya.
The vacancies are available in areas including Thika, Syokimau, Greatwall, Embakasi, Kayole and Mpeketoni. The positions cover medical, dental, laboratory, pharmacy, nursing and customer service roles.
Here are the available positions and the main requirements:
1. Customer Experience Officer/Receptionist – Thika
The position is based at EQA Thika.
Applicants should have:
- A Diploma in Front Office Administration, Business Administration, Health Records or an equivalent qualification.
- At least two years of experience in a service-oriented industry.
- Good computer skills, especially in Health Management Information Systems.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.

2. Clinical Officer – Embakasi and Kayole
Equity Afya is looking for a Clinical Officer to provide patient care and treatment.
Applicants must have:
- A Higher Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery.
- Registration with the Clinical Officers Council and a valid practising licence.
- At least one year of post-internship experience in a public or private hospital.
- Experience working in a busy health facility is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of managing non-communicable diseases.
- BLS and ACLS certificates.
- Good clinical, communication and computer skills.

3. Laboratory Technologist – Syokimau
Applicants should have:
- A Degree in Laboratory Sciences or Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology.
- At least one year of internship experience.
- Registration and a valid licence from the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board.
- Knowledge of Laboratory Quality Management Systems.
- Good computer, communication and interpersonal skills.

4. Medical Officer – Thika
The position requires:
- A Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB/MBBS) from a recognised university.
- Registration and a valid licence from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
- At least one year of internship experience.
- Experience or interest in Internal Medicine.
- BLS and ACLS certificates.
- Good knowledge of healthcare documentation and reporting.
- Good clinical decision-making and communication skills.

5. Pharmaceutical Technologist – Greatwall
Applicants should have:
- A Degree in Pharmacy or Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology.
- At least three years of post-internship experience, preferably in a hospital.
- Registration and a valid licence from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
- Good computer skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.

6. Optometrist – Mpeketoni, Lamu
Applicants should have:
- A Diploma in Optometry.
- At least one year of relevant experience.
- A valid professional licence.
- Good computer and communication skills.
- Knowledge of common eye conditions and eye care.
- Ability to work independently and with other healthcare professionals.

7. Pharmaceutical Technologist – Thika
The requirements include:
- A Degree in Pharmacy or Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology.
- At least one year of post-internship experience, preferably in a hospital setting.
- Registration and a valid licence from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
- Good computer and communication skills.
The position also requires an experienced candidate who can take supervisory responsibilities.

10. Optometrist (Locum) – Thika
The locum position requires:
- A Diploma in Optometry.
- At least one year of relevant experience.
- A valid professional licence.
- Good computer and communication skills.
- Knowledge of eye examinations, diagnosis and treatment of common eye conditions.
- Ability to prescribe and fit corrective lenses.

11. Community Oral Health Officer – Greatwall
Applicants should have:
- A Diploma or Degree in Community Oral Health from a recognised institution.
- Registration and a valid licence from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
- At least two years of post-internship experience.
- A BLS certificate.
- Knowledge of oral health, dental hygiene and infection prevention.
- Good communication and community outreach skills.
Experience in school dental programmes, community outreach or mobile dental clinics is an added advantage.
