A Burundian trader has broken down in tears after allegedly losing his shop and entire stock during the ongoing crackdown on foreign nationals operating businesses in Kenya.
The emotional trader said he had spent about 10 years building his business and was devastated to see everything he had worked for disappear.
In an emotional video circulating online, the man appealed directly to President William Ruto, questioning why he had been subjected to the situation.
“Miaka kumi yote imeenda hivyo,” he said, expressing his frustration over losing everything he had built over the years.
He also questioned what he would do after losing his source of income and said he wished he had been informed earlier if he was required to leave.
The trader said the loss had pushed him back into poverty after spending years working and living in Kenya.
