CCTV Shows Final Moments Before Woman Was Stabbed in Kilimani

CCTV footage has revealed the final moments of a 25-year-old woman who was allegedly stabbed to death by her former boyfriend along Kirichwa Road in Kilimani on Thursday evening.

According to footage seen by local media, the incident happened at around 6 pm on May 14, shortly after the two left work together from an office building along Kirichwa Road.

The man and the woman were seen walking together before the suspect suddenly attacked her in public as shocked pedestrians watched nearby. Some vehicles passing on the road narrowly avoided the commotion.

A few moments later, the woman ran into a nearby pharmacy while trying to escape. However, the suspect followed her inside.

Security cameras inside the pharmacy captured the 22-year-old man allegedly stabbing the woman several times before she collapsed on the floor.

After the attack, the suspect reportedly walked away calmly as the injured woman struggled to stand. She managed to move a short distance outside the pharmacy before collapsing and dying from her injuries.

Witnesses at the scene said members of the public tried to surround the suspect. In an apparent attempt to avoid being attacked by the crowd, the man allegedly lay beside the victim and pretended to be injured.

Police officers later arrived and took the suspect to the hospital after he claimed he had been hurt. However, doctors reportedly confirmed that he had no injuries and that the blood on his clothes belonged to the victim.

Investigators now believe the attack may have been planned after reports emerged that the suspect had gone to work carrying a knife earlier that day.

Police say the two had previously been in a relationship and worked together at a money-lending company along Ngong Road. Reports indicate the woman had recently moved out of the suspect’s house in Kawangware and was staying with her aunt after the relationship ended.

Kilimani Sub-County Police Commander Patricia Yegon confirmed that members of the public managed to restrain the suspect before police arrived at the scene.

The suspect is currently being held at Kilimani Police Station as detectives continue investigations and search for the murder weapon ahead of his court appearance on Monday.

The woman’s body was moved to City Mortuary.
