Nairobi Expressway Announces Jobs for Diploma and Degree Holders

Moja Expressway has announced new job opportunities for Kenyans with diplomas and degrees.
The company that manages the Nairobi Expressway is seeking attendants.
According to the company, the selected candidates will help in collecting toll payments from motorists using the expressway.
Their duties will include receiving cash payments, processing card and electronic payments, issuing receipts, and giving the correct balance where necessary. They will also help drivers with travel directions and other important information.
Requirements for the Nairobi Expressway jobs
Applicants interested in the positions must meet several requirements set by the company.
Candidates should have a diploma, degree, or equivalent qualification from a recognised institution. Basic computer knowledge is also required, while experience in computer operations or accounting will be an added advantage.
The company said applicants with experience in cashier work, customer service, or cash handling will have a better chance.
Other requirements include:
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong maths skills and attention to detail
- Ability to use Point of Sale (POS) machines and computerised toll systems
- Willingness to work during weekends, holidays, and evening shifts
- Ability to work under different weather conditions and stay for long hours while standing or sitting
- Strong discipline and ability to follow instructions from supervisors
Applicants must also be between 20 and 35 years old.
Duties of toll attendants
Successful candidates will be expected to balance cash records at the end of every shift and maintain accurate transaction records.
They will also report suspicious activities, traffic incidents, or damaged equipment to supervisors.
In addition, toll attendants will ensure toll booths remain clean and organised while following all safety and operational procedures set by the company.
Interested applicants have been asked to submit their applications through the company’s recruitment portal before Tuesday, May 20.
Nairobi Expressway toll charges
In 2024, the Kenyan government increased toll charges on the Nairobi Expressway by 50% following approval in a Kenya Gazette notice issued by former Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen.
Under the current charges, motorists travelling from Westlands to Mlolongo pay KSh 500 for a one-way trip. Those travelling from Mlolongo to Haile Selassie Avenue pay KSh 410
