Germany Opens Paid Teaching Opportunities for Kenyan Teachers Earning up to Ksh370,000

Germany has opened applications for a paid teaching programme targeting Kenyan teachers who teach the German language in schools.

In a statement released on May 14, the German Embassy in Nairobi announced that successful applicants will travel to Germany under the 2027 PAD Professional Development Programme.

The programme will allow selected teachers to teach in Germany for almost one academic year while gaining international teaching experience and learning more about the country’s education system.

According to the embassy, the opportunity is open to experienced German-language teachers teaching in junior and senior secondary schools.

“The 2027 PAD Professional Development Programme invites experienced German-language teachers from junior or senior high schools to spend 11.5 months at a school in Germany,” the embassy stated.

Teachers selected for the programme will receive financial support during their stay in Germany. Some applicants will get a monthly stipend of more than €1,500, which is about Ksh227,000 depending on exchange rates.

Others may receive employment contracts paying around €2,500 every month, translating to nearly Ksh370,000.

The programme is expected to attract teachers interested in improving their teaching skills while also experiencing German culture and education.

Requirements for Applicants

Applicants must provide certified copies of their academic certificates, diplomas, and degrees. The qualifications should meet the required education standards recognised by relevant authorities.

Teachers are also required to submit valid registration documents showing they are approved professionals in the public education sector.

The application also requires signed agreements between the teacher and the institution supporting the application.

Applicants with foreign academic qualifications must also provide evaluation certificates confirming that their certificates are recognised.

How to Apply

Interested applicants are required to visit the official PAD application portal and read all the instructions carefully before starting the process.

Applicants will first fill in their personal details, including passport information, nationality, address, and contacts.

After completing the first section, the system automatically saves the information and sends an editing link through email.

Candidates must then continue filling in details about their education background, teaching experience, German language qualifications, and current workplace.

Applicants are also required to upload important supporting documents such as certificates, recommendation letters, signed forms, and medical reports.

According to the German Embassy, all mandatory attachments must be uploaded before the application can be submitted successfully.

Some documents may also require signatures from school principals, medical officers, or other authorised officials.

The embassy advised applicants to scan all documents clearly in PDF format before uploading them to the portal.

Before submitting the application, candidates are encouraged to review all sections carefully and monitor their emails regularly for updates.

The deadline for submitting applications is July 22, according to the German Embassy in Nairobi.
