KMTC Announces Full Scholarship Opportunities Starting September, How To Apply

The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) has announced full scholarship opportunities for students interested in joining certificate courses in the 2026/27 academic year.

In a notice released on Thursday, May 14, KMTC CEO Kelly Oluoch said the scholarships will support students pursuing a Certificate in Community Health Nursing.

The course will begin in September 2026 and will run for two years.

According to KMTC, students who will be selected for the programme will receive full financial support for the entire duration of their studies.

KMTC said the scholarship programme is being offered in partnership with the Beyond Zero Initiative to help improve healthcare services at the community level.

Priority will be given to students from Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASAL) counties, vulnerable communities, minority groups and other underserved areas.

The college also said applicants must be ready to serve their communities after completing their studies. Female candidates have especially been encouraged to apply.

To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must have scored a minimum KCSE mean grade of C- (minus) or an equivalent qualification.

Applicants must also have at least a C- in English or Kiswahili and Biology. In addition, they should have a minimum grade of D+ in either Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry.

Students are also required to write a handwritten letter of not more than 200 words explaining why they deserve the scholarship and how they plan to help their communities after graduation.

How To Apply

Applications should be submitted online through the KMTC admissions portal.

Applicants are required to:

  • Visit the KMTC admissions portal at admissions.kmtc.ac.ke and create an account
  • Fill in the online application form step by step
  • Click the “Submit” button after completing the form
  • Confirm the information is correct and save changes
  • On the dashboard, click on “Apply Beyond Zero Scholarship.”
  • Fill in all the required details
  • Print the completed form, attach relevant documents, and have it signed and stamped where necessary

The completed documents should then be sent to the KMTC CEO’s office in Nairobi before June 13, 2026.
