Pastor Kanyari and Tash Gitau in Bitter Child Custody Battle, “Return My Children”
2 min read
Controversial preacher Pastor Victor Kanyari has publicly accused his co-husband, Tash Gitau, of misusing his daughter, Sky Victor, and has demanded that the children be returned to him.
Speaking during a church sermon, Kanyari warned that he would reveal what allegedly led to the death of gospel singer Betty Bayo if his demands were ignored. He further claimed that Sky Victor has started bleaching her skin, wearing fake nails, and failing to attend school.
According to Kanyari, his daughter earns substantial income through social media brand deals, but the money is allegedly being deposited into Tash Gitau’s account. He questioned why Gitau was benefiting from the earnings while, according to him, he was not contributing towards the children’s school fees and upkeep.
Kanyari claimed that he spends more than KSh 500,000 on the children’s needs and accused Gitau of taking advantage of Sky’s popularity.
On the other hand, Tash Gitau has reportedly moved to court to challenge Kanyari’s actions, arguing that he has full responsibility over the children following the death of their mother.

Months earlier, Pastor Kanyari had revealed that Sky Victor was earning KSh 500,000 every month through an advertising deal with a maize milling company. He expressed surprise at the amount his daughter was making at such a young age.
“She is being given a cheque of KSh 500,000 every month. Imagine earning half a million. When I tell her to let the money go to my account, she insists that it must go to her own account,” Kanyari said.
He jokingly described Sky as a clever and independent girl, saying she likes taking credit even for household chores.
“She is very sharp. Sometimes I cook ugali, then she comes and says she cooked it with vegetables. She is a very clever Nairobi girl, just like her father,” he said.
