KeRRA and KURA Open Applications for Job Opportunities: How to Apply

The Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA) and the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) have announced a major recruitment drive, creating 341 job opportunities for qualified Kenyans.

According to notices published in the latest MyGov issue dated Tuesday, January 13, KeRRA is offering the bulk of the positions with 308 vacancies, while KURA has advertised 33 openings.

Senior and Mid-Level Roles at KeRRA

KeRRA revealed that the available positions are spread across 12 job grades. Senior management roles fall under grades 1, 2, and 3, accounting for 18 vacancies.

Some of the top positions advertised include Director General, Director of Internal Audit, Deputy Director of Roads, Deputy Director of Enterprise Risk Management, Deputy Director of Planning, Deputy Director of Legal Affairs, Deputy Director of Survey, Deputy Director of Supply Chain Management, Deputy Director of Research and Innovation, and Deputy Director of Administration.

The authority has given interested applicants until January 20 to submit their applications. Candidates must clearly indicate the job title and reference number in their application letters, which should be addressed to the Chairperson of the Board of Directors.

Majority of Vacancies in Lower Job Grades

Most of the KeRRA vacancies fall under job grades 4 to 12, which together account for 290 positions. These include roles such as Assistant Director of Roads, Assistant Director of Administration, Principal Engineer, Principal Legal Officer, ICT Officer, Senior Environmentalist, Surveyor, and several other technical and administrative positions.

KeRRA noted that all applications should be submitted through its official recruitment portal. Additional information regarding the job requirements is available on the authority’s website, while any inquiries should be directed to the official KeRRA recruitment email address.

KURA Announces Contract-Based Positions

Meanwhile, KURA has also invited applications for various roles within the authority. The positions available include Director of Engineering, Engineer, Assistant Inspector of Roads, Finance and Accounts Officer, Assistant Administrator Officer, and Driver.

KURA stated that successful applicants will be hired on three-year contracts. Interested candidates are required to submit their applications by 5:00 pm on February 2.

Applicants must download the official KURA Job Application Form from the authority’s website, complete all sections, sign and date the form, and attach certified copies of academic certificates, transcripts, testimonials, and a detailed curriculum vitae.
