KNEC Announces Release of 2025 KPSEA and KILEA Results: How to Access
The Ministry of Education has officially confirmed the release of the 2025 KPSEA and KILEA performance results, following an announcement by the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC).
Learners who sat for the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) can now view their individual performance reports online. According to KNEC, results are available through the official KPSEA results portal.
Candidates are required to visit the portal and enter their assessment number, together with at least one registered name to access their results.
For learners who undertook the Kenya Intermediate Level Education Assessment (KILEA), performance reports will not be accessed online. Instead, candidates have been advised to collect their official reports directly from their respective schools.
Schools have also been granted access to detailed learner performance reports through the Competency-Based Assessment (CBA) portal, enabling institutions to review results at the learner level.

Understanding the KPSEA Assessment
KPSEA is designed to measure learners’ skills, competencies, and knowledge acquired during Grades 4, 5, and 6 under the CBC system.
The assessment emphasizes both academic understanding and practical abilities.
KPSEA consists of two key components:
-
Formative assessment, conducted continuously by teachers across Grades 4 to 6, contributes 60 percent of the final score.
-
Summative assessment, administered nationally by KNEC at the end of Grade 6, accounts for the remaining 40 percent.
The completion of KPSEA marks the transition from primary education to Junior Secondary School (JSS), with learners progressing to Grade 7.
Overview of the KILEA Assessment
The Kenya Intermediate Level Education Assessment (KILEA) is a national evaluation conducted by KNEC under the CBC framework to assess learners at the intermediate level of basic education.
KILEA focuses on evaluating practical skills, understanding, and application of knowledge, moving away from rote memorization.
The results help schools, parents, and learners understand academic progress and determine readiness for the next stage of learning.
