IEBC Announces 12,520 Temporary Jobs Ahead of Voter Registration Drive

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has opened applications for thousands of temporary positions as it prepares for the upcoming Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration (ECVR) exercise.
In a fresh recruitment drive, the electoral body is seeking Voter Registration Clerks to support the nationwide voter listing process at the ward level. Interested candidates have been urged to submit their applications before the set deadline.
Key Duties of Voter Registration Clerks
Successful applicants will be tasked with operating biometric voter registration kits, including KIEMS/VIU tablets, during the registration exercise. They will also be responsible for confirming the eligibility of applicants in line with electoral laws.
Other responsibilities include:

Guiding members of the public on voter registration requirements

Assisting applicants to correctly fill out registration forms

Safeguarding registration equipment and collected data

Submitting daily registration reports to supervising officers
-
Responding to voter inquiries and supporting verification exercises
-
Ensuring inclusive and courteous service, especially to persons with disabilities and vulnerable groups

Observing IEBC’s code of conduct, confidentiality, and data protection rules

Performing additional duties as assigned by supervisors
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the position, applicants must:

Be Kenyan citizens aged 19 years and above

Hold a minimum of KCSE grade C- (minus) or equivalent
-
Demonstrate basic computer literacy and ICT skills
-
Show high levels of integrity, accountability, and confidentiality
Candidates with diplomas in ICT, Statistics, Education, Business Administration, or related fields will have an added advantage.
Important Conditions
The commission has emphasized that applicants must not have held elective office or served as a political party agent or candidate within the last five years.

Successful candidates will undergo mandatory training and will be required to take an oath of secrecy before deployment.
