According to earlier reports, Rachel was later attacked on May 15 by unknown assailants who allegedly doused her with petrol and set her on fire in Mwiki, Kasarani. She suffered severe burns and was rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital, where she later died while receiving treatment. She left behind her children, who are still in school.
