211 Teaching Jobs Open at Rongo University as Institution Announces Massive Recruitment

Rongo University has announced 211 part-time teaching vacancies for the 2026/2027 academic year, opening opportunities for qualified lecturers across multiple disciplines.

In a notice released by the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration, Finance and Planning), the university invited applications from professionals interested in joining on a part-time basis in various schools and departments.

The recruitment covers a wide range of academic fields, reflecting the university’s growing demand for teaching staff across its main campus and satellite centers.

Wide Range of Courses Targeted

The vacancies cut across several schools, including Business, Humanities, Education, Information and Communication Studies, as well as Science and Agriculture.

In the School of Business, Tourism and Hospitality, positions are available in areas such as Project Planning and Management, Accounting, Finance, and Hospitality studies.

The Humanities and Social Sciences department has also advertised multiple positions in Political Science, Sociology, History, Religion, Geography, Economics, Philosophy, and Law.

Language-related roles have been announced in Kiswahili, French, Literature, and Linguistics.

In the School of Education, the university is seeking lecturers in Early Childhood Education, Special Needs Education, Educational Psychology, Physical Education, and Kenyan Sign Language, among others.

The Information and Communication Studies school has listed opportunities in fast-growing areas such as Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Machine Learning, Health Informatics, Journalism, Public Relations, and Media Studies.

The recruitment also extends to Science and Agriculture-related disciplines including Biochemistry, Microbiology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science, Agricultural Engineering, Animal Science, Laboratory Technology, and Fashion Design.

Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science departments have also been included in the hiring plan.

Requirements for Applicants

To qualify, applicants must hold at least a Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant field from a recognized university.

Candidates are also required to have teaching experience at university level or relevant experience in research or industry.

The deadline for applications is Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at 4:00 PM.
