Trainers Needed for NYOTA OJE Youth Programme in Wajir – Apply Before July 24

Lightline Training Centre (LTC) is looking for qualified trainers to support the NYOTA OJE Social Emotional Skills Development (SESD) Programme in Wajir County. The programme is being implemented on behalf of the State Department for Youth Affairs and the Creative Economy to help young people gain practical life and workplace skills.

Job Summary

Position: Trainer – Social Emotional Skills Development (SESD)
Location: Wajir County
Job Type: Contract
Salary: KSh 50,000 – KSh 100,000 per month

Applicants should already be living in Wajir County or be ready to relocate for the duration of the project.

Main Duties

Successful candidates will:

Train young people using the approved NYOTA OJE curriculum.
Conduct interactive classroom and practical learning sessions.
Mentor and guide trainees throughout the programme.
Keep attendance records and training reports.
Prepare lesson plans and complete all training modules on time.
Work closely with county coordinators and monitoring teams.
Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment for all participants.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

A Diploma, Bachelor’s degree, or higher qualification in Education, Social Sciences, Psychology, Community Development, Business, ICT, Entrepreneurship, Youth Development, or a related field.
Experience training youth, community groups, TVET learners, NGO programmes, or adult learners.
Good communication and facilitation skills.
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
Ability to work both independently and in a team.

Added Advantage

Candidates with the following qualifications are encouraged to apply:

Experience as a Trainer of Trainers (ToT).
Experience in life skills, entrepreneurship, employability, or youth empowerment programmes.
Experience working with government or NGO projects.
Knowledge of safeguarding principles.
Ability to speak English and Kiswahili. Knowledge of Somali or other local languages spoken in Wajir is an added advantage.

Monthly pay of between KSh 50,000 and KSh 100,000.
