HELB Paid Batches 2026: Latest Batch Numbers and What Students Should Know
3 min read
Many university and college students are still waiting for their HELB upkeep and tuition funds as disbursements for the 2026/2027 academic year continue.
For students who depend on HELB, the money is important for expenses such as rent, food, transport and other needs while at school.
Recent updates shared by students indicate that several HELB batches have already been paid, while others are still waiting for disbursement.

If your batch number is on this list, keep checking your registered bank account or M-Pesa account for a payment notification.
Students should, however, confirm their individual payment status through official HELB channels because batch updates shared by students may change as disbursements continue.
Other HELB batches still waiting
Some batches have also been assigned but were still awaiting payment at the time of the latest updates.
These include 7067, 7086, 7090, 7094, 7096 and 7104.
Other students have also reported waiting for batches such as 6873, 6874 and 6876.
The fact that a batch is pending does not necessarily mean that a student will not receive the money. Disbursement can happen at different times depending on the processing stage and payment arrangements.
What does a HELB batch number mean?
A HELB batch number is used to group students whose funding is being processed for disbursement.
Getting a batch number is an important step because it shows that your funding has progressed in the HELB processing system.
However, having a batch number does not mean the money is already in your account.
The funds still have to go through the disbursement process before the student receives the payment.
In simple terms, the process can be understood as:
Application → Assessment/Allocation → Batch Assignment → Disbursement → Funds Received
The time taken between these stages can vary.
What if your HELB status says ‘Allocated’?
Some students may see “Allocated” on their HELB portal but still have no money in their accounts.
This does not automatically mean that there is a problem with the application.
Being allocated and being paid are two different stages. A student may have been allocated funding while still waiting for the batch assignment or actual disbursement.
Students should therefore avoid assuming that the money must arrive immediately after the status changes to “Allocated”.
Where will HELB upkeep money be sent?
Upkeep funds are paid through the payment method provided by the student.
Depending on the student’s arrangement, the money may be sent to a registered bank account or mobile-money account.
Tuition funding is handled differently, with the tuition portion being sent to the institution.
This means students with similar HELB statuses may receive their money at different times.
What should students waiting for HELB do?
If your money has not arrived yet, keep checking your HELB portal, registered bank account or M-Pesa account and official HELB communication.
Do not rely entirely on batch numbers circulating on social media because student groups can sometimes share information before an official update is available.
If your status remains unchanged for a long time or you believe there is an issue with your application, use HELB’s official student support channels to seek clarification.
For now, students whose batches are still pending may need to continue waiting as the ongoing disbursement process moves forward.
