Kakamega County Advertises 586 Nursing Jobs – Requirements & How to Apply

The County Government of Kakamega has announced 586 nursing vacancies under the Department of Health Services.
The positions are available on a three-month contract, renewable once, and applicants must meet the academic and professional requirements for the specific position.
1. Nursing Officer – 72 Positions
The county is hiring 72 Nursing Officers under Job Group CPSB 09/K.
Applicants should have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Midwifery from a recognised institution.
- A valid registration certificate from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
- A valid practising licence.
- A certificate in computer applications.
The salary scale starts at Ksh39,700 per month.
2. Registered Nurse III – 277 Positions
A total of 277 positions are available for Registered Nurse III.
Applicants must have a relevant nursing diploma, including Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing, Kenya Registered Nursing, Kenya Registered Midwifery or other recognised nursing qualifications.
They must also have:
- Registration with the Nursing Council of Kenya.
- A valid practising licence.
- A certificate in computer applications.
The salary scale starts at Ksh26,900 per month.
3. Enrolled Nurse III – 237 Positions
The county has also advertised 237 vacancies for Enrolled Nurse III.
Applicants are required to have a recognised certificate in areas such as Kenya Enrolled Nursing, Kenya Enrolled Community Health Nursing, Kenya Enrolled Midwifery or psychiatric nursing.
Applicants must also have:
- An enrolment certificate from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
- A valid practising licence.
- A certificate in computer applications.
The salary scale starts at Ksh23,700 per month.

Applications must be submitted online through the County Government of Kakamega website.
Applicants should select the “Our Job Offers” option, complete the application form and submit it online.
The deadline is Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.
The county will not accept hard-copy or email applications.
Shortlisted candidates will be required to present their original National ID and academic and professional certificates during interviews.
The county has also warned applicants against paying anyone for recruitment. Kakamega County Public Service Board does not use agents or charge any recruitment fee.
