Kasmuel McOure Forced to Flee After Gen Z Crowd Shouts “Enda Home”
2 min read
Activist Kasmuel McOure was forced to leave in a hurry after a group of Gen Z youths heckled him while he attempted to address them in the streets.
McOure first rose to prominence during the 2024 anti-government protests, where he was widely seen at the forefront of demonstrations. At the time, many supporters rallied behind him, especially following reports of his alleged abduction.
The activist later changed course and aligned himself with Raila Odinga’s camp under the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM). His new political direction saw him work closely with the veteran leader and even secure a meeting with William Ruto.
In a past interview after Raila’s death, McOure described the former prime minister as a generous mentor who occasionally supported him financially without being prompted.

Gen Z crowd rejects McOure
However, McOure has recently been facing resistance from sections of the public, particularly Gen Z activists unhappy with his perceived support for the current administration.
In a video now circulating online, the activist is seen attempting to speak to a charged crowd before being drowned out by chants. The youths shouted:
“Go home, leave this place. Do not come back.”
The situation quickly escalated, forcing McOure to retreat as the crowd refused to engage with him and labelled him a traitor.
Financial support from Raila
McOure previously revealed that the lowest amount he ever received from Raila was KSh 100,000, while the highest was about $8,000 (over KSh 1 million) during a trip to the United States.
He expressed deep appreciation for the mentorship and opportunities the veteran politician provided him before his passing.
The incident has triggered debate on social media, with Kenyans expressing divided opinions.
Some users criticised McOure for distancing himself from Gen Z activists, while others urged young people to remain respectful despite political differences.
Kasmuel McOure Warning to ODM leaders
In a separate development, McOure recently cautioned ODM leaders against entering private political arrangements with President Ruto ahead of the 2027 General Election.
He maintained that Oburu Oginga is the party’s legitimate presidential flagbearer and the only official constitutionally empowered to initiate political agreements.
His remarks come amid internal tensions within ODM, with figures such as James Orengo opposing any cooperation with the current administration, arguing it could weaken the party’s national standing.
