Kenya Power Opens Applications for September–November 2026 Industrial Attachment

Kenya Power has announced industrial attachment opportunities for continuing students seeking practical work experience between September and November 2026.

The three-month programme is open to students from accredited colleges and universities in Kenya. It is meant to help learners gain hands-on experience and understand how the workplace operates before completing their studies.

Who Can Apply?

The attachment is open to continuing students in the following categories:

  • Bachelor’s Degree students
  • Diploma students
  • Craft Certificate students taking approved technical courses

Students applying for Degree programmes should use reference number KP1/ATTGRAD/26/3, while Diploma students should apply using KP1/ATTDIP/26/3. Craft Certificate applicants should use KP1/ATTCERT/26/3.

Approved Craft Certificate Courses

Kenya Power will only accept applications from students pursuing the following Craft Certificate courses:

  • Electrical and Electronics Engineering (Power Option)
  • Mechanical or Automotive Engineering
  • Building and Civil Engineering
  • Plumbing

The company has also announced that ICT students are not eligible for this attachment intake. Anyone studying Information and Communication Technology is advised not to apply.

Attachment Period

Successful applicants will undertake the industrial attachment for three months, from September to November 2026.

Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be a continuing student in an accredited institution.
  • Be available for the full three-month attachment period.
  • Have an introduction letter from their college or university.
  • Have valid personal accident insurance throughout the attachment period.

What Students Will Gain

Those selected will work with experienced Kenya Power staff and gain practical experience related to their courses. The attachment is expected to help students improve their technical skills, teamwork, communication, professionalism, and understanding of workplace procedures.

Applicants should use the correct reference number when applying:

  • Bachelor’s Degree: KP1/ATTGRAD/26/3
  • Diploma: KP1/ATTDIP/26/3
  • Craft Certificate: KP1/ATTCERT/26/3
