KUCCPS Opens Late Degree Applications for Students Who Missed University Placement

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has opened a new application window for students who qualified for university but were not placed.

The opportunity is available to students who sat the KCSE exams between 2022 and 2025 and scored C+ (plus) or above.

According to KUCCPS, this is the first time eligible students who missed the normal placement process can submit late applications for degree courses and receive instant placement once their application is processed.

Who Can Apply?

You can apply if you:

  • Sat KCSE between 2022 and 2025.
  • Scored C+ or above.
  • Qualified for a degree course but were not placed in a university through KUCCPS.

How to Apply

Eligible students should:

  • Visit the KUCCPS student portal.
  • Log in using your KCSE index number and password.
  • Select the Late Degree Application option.
  • Choose their preferred degree course and submit the application.

KUCCPS has advised all eligible candidates to apply before the application window closes.

The announcement comes shortly after KUCCPS released the 2025 placement results.

Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba recently announced that 293,869 students were placed in different institutions for the 2025/2026 academic year.

Out of these:

  • 202,133 were placed in degree programmes.
  • 28,246 joined the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC).
  • 500 were admitted to the Diploma in Law courses.
  • 765 joined Kenya Utalii College.
  • 875 were placed in Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs).

Students who qualified for university but missed placement are encouraged to use this opportunity to secure admission before the application period ends.
