1,000 Government Internship Slots Open for ICT Graduates

The Public Service Commission (PSC) has announced 1,000 internship opportunities under the Ministry of Education’s Digital Literacy Programme (DLP) Cohort 5.

The opportunities are open to qualified Diploma and Degree graduates in ICT and ICT-related education fields.

Successful applicants will be deployed to schools at the sub-county level, where they will support the use of technology in teaching and learning while gaining practical work experience.

Requirements

To qualify for the internship, applicants must:

  • Have graduated not earlier than 2022.
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education with a specialization in ICT, a Bachelor’s degree in ICT, a Diploma in ICT, or a Diploma in ICT Integration in Education from a recognized institution.
  • Have knowledge of networking, infrastructure, application development, information security and project management.
  • Be able to integrate ICT into education, including e-learning and digital content development.
  • Have skills in research and innovation related to digital learning.
  • Be willing to work full-time and be deployed to any sub-county education office.
  • Have not previously benefited from a similar government internship programme.

What the Interns Will Do

The selected interns will help schools improve the use of technology in learning.

Their duties will include supporting e-learning and digital content development, training primary school teachers on the use of digital devices, and helping implement the Digital Learning Programme.

They will also assist teachers in integrating ICT into teaching, learning and assessment, support the safe and responsible use of technology, and provide basic ICT support and maintenance in schools.

Internship Duration and Stipend

The internship will run for 12 months and will not be renewable.

Interns will receive a monthly stipend at a rate determined by the government.

Those who successfully complete the programme will receive an internship certificate from the State Department for Basic Education.
