Tension High As Former President Uhuru Allegedly Now Holds a Meeting with Top ODM Members

Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi has launched a stark public accusation against former President Uhuru Kenyatta, alleging a deliberate plot to sow division within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

The charges have significantly heightened political tensions, casting a spotlight on the delicate dynamics within Kenya’s opposition.

Speaking on the matter, CS Mbadi asserted that the former Head of State has been conducting clandestine meetings with a select faction of ODM leaders.

He characterized these gatherings as a calculated effort to undermine party cohesion and create destabilizing internal rifts.

The Treasury Chief further contextualized the allegation within the party’s recent history, stating that ODM still feels a sense of betrayal from the events leading up to the 2022 general elections.

He emphasized that the party has absorbed difficult lessons from past political alignments and is intent on avoiding a repetition of previous mistakes.

In a direct warning to ODM members purportedly involved in the alleged meetings, Mbadi declared that the party’s leadership is fully apprised of their activities.

He issued a firm statement that ODM would not entertain any actions perceived as threatening its internal stability or collective strategic direction.

These remarks represent a sharp and unambiguous escalation in the ongoing political discourse surrounding the former president’s activities.

They serve to renew focus on Uhuru Kenyatta’s enduring, and often contentious, influence within opposition circles despite his formal departure from office.

The public airing of these internal suspicions by a senior figure in both government and the party signals a brewing confrontation that could redefine allegiances and reshape the opposition landscape ahead of future political contests.
