James Orengo Asks Ruto to Explain Source of Money Given Out at State House

Siaya Governor James Orengo has questioned President William Ruto over the large amounts of money he says are being given out at State House.
Speaking in remarks captured on video, Orengo said Kenyans should be able to ask the President where the money being given out comes from.
Orengo argued that even a wealthy person such as Elon Musk would be expected to explain the source of large amounts of money.
He said the money being given out by the government should concern Kenyans because it ultimately belongs to the public.
“Kenyans, we are in a position now without fear to ask President Ruto where he is getting all this money,” Orengo said.
He added that the money is not the President’s personal money but belongs to Kenyans.
The remarks have drawn attention online, with the video showing Orengo directly questioning the source of the funds being distributed at State House.
