Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale’s Wife Dies After Sudden Heart Attack

Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale is mourning the death of his wife, Gloria Sekeiyan Khalwale, who died suddenly on Saturday morning, August 15, 2026.
Khalwale announced the death in a statement, saying his wife suddenly collapsed after suffering a heart attack.
“My dear wife, Gloria Sekeiyan Khalwale, has this morning suddenly collapsed and died after a heart attack,” the Senator said.
Gloria was the mother of eight of Khalwale’s children. News of her death has attracted messages of condolence from political leaders and members of the public.
Among those who condoled with the Senator was Senate Majority Leader Edwin Sifuna, who sent his condolences to Khalwale and his family.
National Assembly Budget and Appropriations Committee Chair Samuel Atandi and former Principal Secretary Irungu Nyakera also expressed their sympathy to the family.
Gloria was also the mother of Engine Kukaste Khalwale, who recently graduated from Moringa School as a Certified Full-Stack Software Engineer.
Khalwale had previously spoken about his family, revealing in 2024 that he had four wives and 17 children. Gloria was his third wife.
The Senator’s first wife, Adelaide Khalwale, died in 2019. He also has children with his second wife, Josephine Khalwale, and fourth wife, Diana Khalwale.
The family has not shared further details about the circumstances surrounding Gloria’s death.
