Easy Coach Announces New Bus Fare Charges After Fuel Hike

Easy Coach, one of Kenya’s leading bus companies, has announced new travel charges for passengers using its major routes across the country.

According to a notice released on Saturday, April 18, 2026, the new fares will start applying from Monday, April 20, 2026.

The company said the changes come after the recent increase in fuel prices in Kenya.

Passengers travelling from Nairobi to Kisumu, Maseno, Mbale, Siaya, Butere, Ndori, Bondo and Usenge will now pay Ksh1,900.

This is an increase of Ksh150 from the previous fare.

Travellers going to Ugunja, Bumala and Busia will now pay Ksh1,950, up from Ksh1,800.

For passengers heading to Kakamega, Mumias, Webuye and Kimilili, the new fare has been set at Ksh1,800, while those travelling to Kitale will pay Ksh1,850.

In the South Nyanza region, passengers travelling to Oyugis, Kisii, Kendu Bay and Homa Bay will be charged Ksh1,550.

Those going to Ndhiwa, Sori, Mbita, Migori, Sirare, Kehancha and Rongo will pay Ksh1,600.

Easy Coach has also increased the fare from Nairobi to Eldoret to Ksh1,700, which is Ksh100 more than the previous charge.

The fare review comes shortly after the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) announced a rise in fuel prices.

EPRA increased the price of super petrol by Ksh17 and diesel by Ksh30, forcing many transport companies to review their charges.

Ena Coach Also Raises Fares

The latest fare changes by Easy Coach come just days after Ena Coach also announced higher charges.

Under Ena Coach’s new prices, passengers travelling from Nairobi to upcountry through Narok will pay Ksh1,700.

Those using the Nakuru route will now pay Ksh1,800.

Passengers travelling between Nairobi and Mombasa will be charged Ksh2,000.

The fare between Kisii and Kisumu has been set at Ksh700.

For passengers travelling between Mombasa and upcountry towns, the company has set the fare at Ksh3,000.

Ena Coach said the new prices took effect immediately after the announcement.

The company explained that the changes were made after reviewing operational costs following the sharp increase in fuel prices.
