Gladys Wanga Appoints New Deputy Governor

Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga has appointed Danish Otieno Onyango as the county’s new deputy governor. This comes after the resignation of former deputy governor Joseph Oyugi Magwanga in late February.

In a statement released on March 16, Governor Wanga said Onyango, who currently serves as the County Executive Committee member for Roads and Public Works, will take on the deputy governor role once approved by the county assembly. He will continue his responsibilities in the Roads and Public Works department while serving as deputy governor.

“Following the vacancy created by the resignation of the previous deputy governor and in accordance with the County Government Act, I nominate Danish Otieno Onyango to serve as the deputy governor, pending approval by the county assembly,” Wanga said.
