IEBC Announces Polling Clerk Jobs, Pays KSh 1,000 Daily

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is recruiting temporary polling, queuing, and counting clerks for the upcoming by-election in Migwani.
Successful applicants will earn KSh 1,000 per day and will assist election officials in managing polling stations and counting votes.
The recruitment is open to qualified Kenyan citizens who meet the requirements set by the commission.
Requirements for IEBC Polling Clerk Jobs
To qualify for the position, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a Kenyan citizen with high integrity and a non-partisan attitude.
- Have a minimum KCSE mean grade of C-.
- Be of good character.
- Be available throughout the election exercise.
Duties of Polling, Queuing and Counting Clerks
Those recruited will work under the supervision of a Presiding Officer. Their duties will include:
- Preparing polling stations and counting rooms before voting begins.
- Displaying election notices and posters at polling stations.
- Managing queues and directing voters to the correct polling stations.
- Checking voters’ fingers for indelible ink marks to help prevent multiple voting.
- Verifying voters’ identities before they cast their ballots.
- Issuing stamped ballot papers to voters whose names appear in the register.
- Assisting election officials in sorting votes during counting.
- Performing other duties assigned by the Presiding Officer.
