Gulf Energy Announces Job Vacancies Ahead of Kenya’s First Oil Production, How to Apply

Gulf Energy has announced new employment opportunities for Kenyans as preparations for the South Lokichar Oil Development Project gather pace.
The company is planning to begin commercial oil production by December 2026 and is seeking to recruit professionals and fresh graduates to support the project.
According to the company, a total of 61 vacancies are available under 39 different job categories. Some positions have more than one opening.
The jobs are spread across Nairobi, Turkana and Mombasa, with opportunities in engineering, finance, logistics, communications, human resources and oil production operations.
Among the advertised positions are Field Security Advisor, Communications and Digital Officer, Commercial Advisor, Project Planning Engineer, Production Engineer, Human Resources Officer and Operations Assistant.
Gulf Energy is also offering opportunities to recent graduates through positions such as Graduate Electrical Engineer, Graduate Mechanical Engineer, Graduate Process Engineer, Graduate Geologist, Graduate Reservoir Engineer and Graduate Petrophysicist.
Several field-based positions in Turkana have multiple openings. They include Dispatchers, Production Operators, Senior Production Operators and Field Stakeholder Engagement Officers.
The company said preference will be given to Kenyan citizens in line with local content requirements. Foreign applicants must have legal permission to work in Kenya.
Interested candidates are required to submit their applications through the careers section of Gulf Energy’s official website.
Applications will close on June 26, 2026, at 5:00 pm East African Time.
Gulf Energy noted that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted because of the large number of applications expected.
The company also warned applicants against canvassing, saying any attempt to influence the recruitment process will lead to automatic disqualification.
The recruitment exercise comes as Kenya moves closer to producing its first commercial oil, a development expected to strengthen the country’s energy sector and reduce dependence on imported fuel.
