Johanna Ngeno’s Final Words Before Fatal Helicopter Crash
2 min read
Emurua Dikirr MP Johanna Ngeno spent his final hours doing what many of his supporters say defined his life — serving the community.
The outspoken lawmaker was among six people on board a helicopter that crashed at Chepkiep in Mosop Constituency, Nandi County, bringing an abrupt end to a career marked by development projects, legal advocacy, and grassroots engagement.
His Final Public Message
Just hours before the tragic crash, Ngeno shared photos and a short video clip of himself aboard the helicopter flying over the Mara River area.
He had joined families and rescue teams at Mara Rianta in the search for two young men who were swept away by raging waters. In his message, he urged residents to stay alert during the rainy season and put community safety first.
Earlier, he had travelled to Kapkugo, Tulwop Kony, and Endebes, where he joined leaders, friends, and fans in celebrating musician Kim Kim as the artist marked 35 years in the music industry.
On Friday, he was also busy handing over bursary cheques to students in the Lower Zone of Ilkerin Ward, reaffirming his commitment to supporting education in Emurua Dikirr.
From Rural Narok to Parliament
Born on December 12, 1972, in Narok County, Ngeno grew up in a rural setting where education was scarce but highly treasured. He began his studies at Mogondo Primary School before joining Maseno National School for his secondary education.
His academic journey later took him abroad to Kyiv TSN University in Ukraine, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Law. Upon returning to Kenya, he pursued an LL.B degree at Mount Kenya University and later obtained a Master of Arts in International Studies from University of Nairobi.
In September 2025, he achieved a major milestone after being admitted to the bar as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya — a dream he had worked towards for years.
