Wamuchomba Predicts at Possible Ruto–Gachagua Handshake

Githunguri Member of Parliament Gathoni Wamuchomba has suggested that a political reconciliation could happen between William Ruto and former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Speaking on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, Wamuchomba shared her thoughts after the two leaders attended the requiem mass of the late David Kiaraho. She believes their recent actions could be a sign of a possible “handshake” between them.

In a post shared on X, Wamuchomba described Gachagua as a smart politician who may already be preparing for a deal with President Ruto.

She wrote that Gachagua is carefully planning his next political move and could soon agree to work together with the President.

Wamuchomba also confidently added that she expects to play a role in the process, even joking that she would be the one to serve tea during the handshake meeting.

At the same time, the MP called on leaders to reduce political attacks and instead focus on development projects that directly help citizens. She urged leaders to work together so that communities can benefit from better roads and services.

Ruto and Gachagua Meet at Funeral Event

President William Ruto and Rigathi Gachagua met face to face during the requiem mass of the late Ol Kalou MP, David Kiaraho.

Gachagua attended the event together with his allies, including Nyandarua Senator John Methu.

The event was mainly for mourning the late MP, but also attracted political attention. Gachagua insisted on attending despite calls from some leaders asking him to stay away because the President would be present.

He made it clear that no one could stop him or his supporters from attending the funeral and paying their last respects.
