Women Scramble to Collect ‘Anointed Soil’ Touched by Pastor Ezekiel
1 min read
Kilifi-based preacher Pastor Ezekiel Odero has once again captured public attention after a video showed his congregants rushing to collect soil he had stepped on during a religious event.
Ezekiel Odero, known for his healing ministries and unusual spiritual practices, previously sparked debate in January when he poured bottled water over congregants during a prayer service, calling it a method for “breaking altars.”
In the latest video, shared on social media, the pastor was seen walking around a crusade venue in his signature white robe, accompanied by tight security. Behind him, several worshippers were seen scrambling to pick up pieces of the soil he walked on, sometimes falling over one another in their effort to get it.

The preacher is no stranger to controversy. In the past, he anointed construction nails with oil from Bethlehem, claiming it would help congregants secure property and spiritual protection—a move that sparked both amusement and criticism online.
Social media reactions to the new video were mixed. Some users expressed concern over the actions of the congregants, while others support their faith.
Despite the debates, Ezekiel Odero continues to attract followers who see his practices as a direct path to divine blessings.
