Pastor Kanyari Tells Ruto Kikuyus Will Not Abandon Gachagua Ahead of 2027 Polls

Victor Kanyari has urged William Ruto to accept that many Kikuyu voters are still strongly supporting Rigathi Gachagua ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Speaking during a church service on Sunday, May 24, 2026, the Salvation Healing Ministry founder said Gachagua has continued to gain strong support among members of the Kikuyu community.

According to Kanyari, many Kikuyus have already decided where their political loyalty lies, making it difficult for President Ruto to change the situation.

“Rigathi Gachagua is deep in the hearts of many Kikuyus, and there is little President Ruto can do about it,” Kanyari said during the sermon.

The controversial preacher further claimed that many supporters from the community are currently backing the one-term movement against Ruto’s expected re-election bid in 2027.

Kanyari said no political strategy or pressure would easily change the current mood on the ground because Gachagua has already connected emotionally with many people.

“Even if he tries everything possible, it will not be easy to change because many Kikuyus are now openly supporting Gachagua and the one-term movement,” he added.

The preacher also advised leaders to focus on winning people’s trust and hearts instead of depending only on political power.

According to him, Gachagua’s popularity among a section of Kikuyu voters continues to grow, and ignoring the public mood could become politically dangerous.

Kanyari said leaders should understand that political influence comes from connecting with people emotionally.

In a separate statement, Kanyari also revealed details of a recent conversation he allegedly had with Gachagua concerning his political ambitions.

The televangelist claimed that the former deputy president advised him to join his political camp if he wants to successfully contest the Kasarani parliamentary seat in 2027.

Kanyari said the two met recently before Gachagua pulled him aside for a private political discussion.

According to the preacher, Gachagua asked him whether he supports the opposition side or President Ruto’s camp.

“The other day I met Rigathi Gachagua and he told me that if I want to win the Kasarani MP seat, I should join his side politically,” Kanyari claimed.

However, Kanyari said he avoided declaring his political stand and instead promised they would discuss the matter later.

The preacher further alleged that Gachagua appeared very confident about his influence among Kikuyu voters.

He claimed the former deputy president told him he had already won the hearts of many people within the community.

Kanyari also noted that many Kikuyu supporters have become very loyal to Gachagua, making criticism against him difficult in some circles.

“Right now, it is not easy to speak badly about Gachagua among many Kikuyus because they strongly support him,” Kanyari said.
