Alliance High School Students Sent Home After Fire Breaks Out

Alliance High School has sent students home after a fire broke out early Thursday morning at the school’s mattress store.

According to the school principal, the incident happened around 4 am. He confirmed that the fire was quickly controlled before it could spread to classrooms or dormitories. No students or learning facilities were affected.

As a safety measure, the school administration asked parents to pick up their children while investigations continue.

Emergency teams responded fast and managed to stop the fire from spreading to other buildings within the school compound.

Authorities are expected to investigate the cause of the fire, with attention likely on how the incident started in the early morning hours.

This incident comes at a time when several schools in Kenya have experienced unrest and fire-related cases. Some schools have recently been closed after student unrest and suspected arson incidents.

In recent weeks, schools such as Loreto High School Limuru, Lenana School, and Moi Forces Academy have also been affected by similar disruptions.

The situation has raised concern following the deadly fire at Utumishi Girls High School in Gilgil, Nakuru County, where 16 students died and many others were injured.

Education stakeholders and government officials have since called for stronger guidance and discipline among learners to prevent further incidents in schools.
