These Are the 40 MPs Who Voted Against the 2026 Finance Bill

Forty Members of Parliament voted against the 2026 Finance Bill during voting in the National Assembly.

Out of the 349 lawmakers in Parliament, only a section of MPs took part in the vote on the Bill, which contains tax and revenue proposals for the 2026/2027 financial year.

Among those who opposed the Bill were Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, alongside several legislators from different political parties and regions across the country.

The MPs who voted against the 2026 Finance Bill are:

The vote on the Finance Bill is one of the most important decisions made by Parliament every year because it determines the government’s tax measures and revenue plans.

While 40 MPs voted against the Bill, many other lawmakers either supported it or were absent during the voting session.

The Finance Bill 2026 now proceeds through the parliamentary process before becoming law.
