Kenya Kwanza Leaders Want Ruto to Root Out ‘Moles’ After State House Information Leaks

Several Kenya Kwanza leaders have called on President William Ruto to investigate claims that confidential information from State House is being leaked to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

The leaders spoke on Saturday during a meeting in Shinyalu, Kakamega County. They said if the claims are true, the people responsible should be identified because such leaks could threaten national security.

Among those who spoke were Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka, Kakamega Deputy Governor Ayub Savula and several Members of Parliament. They also praised President Ruto’s recent State of the Nation Address, saying it highlighted the government’s plans for the country.

Gachagua Claimed He Knew Details Before the Speech

Before President Ruto addressed the nation on Thursday, Gachagua told church leaders at his home in Nyeri that the President would announce a new long-term development plan instead of focusing on the government’s recent performance.

During the State of the Nation Address, President Ruto announced plans to begin a national discussion on Kenya’s future after Vision 2030. The public participation exercise is expected to start on August 12, 2026, and will help develop the country’s next long-term development plan.

Opposition Questions the New Plan

Soon after the speech, some opposition leaders and many Kenyans on social media questioned the announcement. They argued that the government should first address the high cost of living, taxes, and other economic challenges affecting citizens.

Gachagua Says He Has Government Sources

Speaking later in an interview with political analyst Herman Manyora, Gachagua claimed that people working in government regularly share information with him before major announcements are made.

According to him, he was informed on Thursday morning that the President would use the State of the Nation Address to introduce a long-term national development plan. He also claimed the proposal was first referred to as “Vision 2060” before it was changed to a post-2030 development vision.

Gachagua said he receives information from people in different government institutions, including State House, because they are concerned about the direction the country is taking.

He further alleged that some government employees are unhappy with the current administration and have chosen to share information with him.

However, the government has not publicly responded to Gachagua’s latest claims about alleged information leaks from State House.
