Government Announces 67 New Jobs in Ministry of Interior, How to Apply

The Ministry of Interior and National Administration has announced 67 job vacancies under the State Department for Correctional Services.
The government is looking for qualified Kenyans to fill positions in cooking, housekeeping, artisan work and security services. All the jobs are permanent and pensionable.
According to the advertisement, the available positions are:
- Cook III – 18 vacancies
- Housekeeping Assistant III – 5 vacancies
- Artisan III – 19 vacancies
- Security Warden II – 25 vacancies
Successful applicants will earn a monthly salary ranging from KSh21,120 to KSh26,250. They will also receive house allowance, commuter allowance, annual leave allowance and government medical cover.
Duties for Each Position
Cook III
Successful candidates will help in preparing food, cleaning kitchen equipment, maintaining hygiene and reporting damaged equipment.
Housekeeping Assistant III
The role involves cleaning rooms and corridors, washing linen and laundry, ironing clothes and ensuring proper storage of equipment.
Artisan III
Applicants will be involved in repair and maintenance work in areas such as carpentry, masonry, welding, painting and plumbing.
Security Warden II
The officers will patrol government premises, guard entry points, prevent unauthorized access and report security concerns.
Important Information for Applicants
The ministry warned applicants against providing false information or fake certificates, saying this is a criminal offence. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews.
The government has also encouraged persons with disabilities, minorities and people from marginalized communities to apply for the positions.
